Why invest in ETFs

A simpler, lower-cost way to build long-term wealth

Lower costs, more invested

ETFs generally have lower fees than actively managed funds.

Lower costs mean more of your money stays invested.

Diversification made simple

A single ETF can provide exposure to hundreds or thousands of investments.

Invest across Australian and international shares, bonds and gold.

More tax-efficient by design

ETFs typically trade less frequently than actively managed funds, which may reduce realised capital gains.

Gains and losses within an ETF can offset each other, this may reduce tax compared with owning individual shares.

Choosing ETFs is only one part of investing. You still need to decide which are the best ETFs, how to combine them to ensure they give you the best return at a risk level that you are comfortable with.

Stockspot recommends a diversified ETF portfolio suited to you, invests your money, reinvests distributions, monitors your portfolio and rebalances it when needed. You also have access to our Australian-based Client Care and Advice team. See how our portfolios have historically performed.

We also provide a consolidated annual tax summary covering all the ETFs in your portfolio, making it easier for you or your accountant to prepare your tax return. You can also invite your accountant to view your portfolio directly. This is often a time consuming process for DIY investors.

We assess factors including fees, diversification, liquidity, size and tracking performance. We regularly review the ETFs in our portfolios to make sure they remain suitable.

We ask about your goals, timeframe, financial situation and attitude to risk. We use your answers to recommend a diversified ETF portfolio suited to you.

Like all market investments, ETFs can rise and fall in value, and returns are not guaranteed. Learn more about how Stockspot protects your investments.
